FastFox Drives Porsche 911 Carrera S

Porsche 911 Carrera S

Engine, chassis, body. In every component of the 911, Porsche have invested years of experience, thousands of ideas and countless hours of development. Every time I drive a Porsche this shows in the perfect balance of every little detail the engineers have refined each time a new model comes out.
The 911 has been fit for the future since 1963. 2+2 seats are the ideal concept for a compact and purebred sports car that nevertheless offers an astonishing amount of space and an airy feel. The compact engine in the rear end: the optimum drive concept for the 911. It is this position that helps to ensure excellent traction and lends the 911 its unique driving feel.
The perfect basis for superlative sporty performance, which you can bring to the road day in, day out.
The interior provides you with quickly accessible information that you need during the drive. With materials that breathe motorsport and high-quality equipment that’s just perfect for long drives on the road or on the racetrack. A minimalist style with nothing left out.
The drive unit is an aspirated engine at the highest technical level. With the optional PDK system (Porsche Doppelkupplung), the Carrera S takes a mere 4.1 seconds to sprint from 0 to 62mph, or with the aid of launch control it comes down to 3.9. The top speed is 190mph.
When driving quietly, the sound is earthy but becomes increasingly racier as the driving style gets more sporty and aggressive. A button in the centre console activates the sports exhaust system, the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and the smile on your face gets uncontrollably ever wider.
A piece of Le Mans, a part of Porsche motorsport history: Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK). 7-speed PDK is available as an option for the 911 S models and in my opinion it’s a must have. It facilitates extremely fast gear changes within milliseconds and with no interruption in the flow of power, while at the same time improving acceleration. Gears one to six are sporty while the seventh gear has a long ratio for better fuel consumption.IMG_0318
Verdict: As always Porsche delivers.
The 911 driving experience always excites. The Carrera S can be gentle when needed but when you need the extra power on tap turn the new dial on the steering wheel to Sport or Sport + modes for the full beans. We were really lucky with the Yorkshire weather all weekend and Whitby and the surrounding North Yorkshire Moors provided the perfect playground to have some fun.
I really love this car.
